PROGRAMME PLACEMENT

Children are placed in the appropriate programme after a baseline assessment is administered in one of the following groups: Flutterbabes, Flutterbys, Serurubele (butterfly in Sotho), The Inkululeko (freedom in Zulu) Vocational Group or the High Care Unit.

Children deemed to require additional therapeutic support will be referred accordingly to our onsite therapists which include occupational therapy, speech therapy, physiotherapy and play therapy.

TOMATIS ®

“The Tomatis® Method offers children, adults, and seniors one of the most innovative and advanced neurosensory stimulation training programs to improve brain function. Backed by numerous studies, the Tomatis® Method is commonly used to improve motor skills as well as emotional and cognitive abilities. Its unique technology modifies music and voice in real time to improve brain stimulation.

Tomatis ® is available to children from all schools as an afternoon programme. Please contact the school directly for more information.

CODING & ROBOTICS

Coding and robotics is provided as part of the school programme. This amazing curriculum is provided and supported by Resolute Education.

READ WITH BRODY

Brody is a fully trained therapy dog. In the “Read with Brody” programme children who struggle with reading are given the opportunity to spend time with Brody once a week and read to him. This has proven to be an extremely effective method in encouraging children to read improving articulation and confidence.
