Intermediate Phase

 

  • Intermediate phase is the Gr4 to Gr6. Our age bracket for foundation phase is from 10 to 17 years.
  • We follow the mainstream CAPS curriculum, with added enrichment for our children.
  • We use specialised equipment and techniques to assist our children through this learning process.  
  • Each child’s programs are individually created to work on their strengths and weaknesses. Children are placed in classes according to their age and emotional maturity.
  • Our classrooms are set up to assist children’s needs through their learning process on an individual basis and need, for example: by swapping chairs for balls, placing kick bands at the bottom of chairs etc.

 

 

Independent skills

Are individually based on each child’s developmental needs. Some of the skills we focus on are the following, but is not limited to these skills:

  • Independent decision making,
  • Independent working,
  • Responsibility
  • Dangers and safety (e.g. HIV etc.)
  • Environmental dangers and safety
  • Career development
