FLUTTERBYS

Flutterbys addresses the early intervention needs of children between the ages of 3 and 9. The curriculum and activities are arranged and graded according to the child’s individual strengths and weaknesses in their own specific programme. The focus is on addressing all the underlying skills necessary for functionality whilst creating a solid foundation for continuous learning.

 

Exams and assessments

Children are formally assessed twice a year. The first assessment is in June and the second assessment is in November.

Besides our formal assessments children are continuously monitored through tasks and milestone development goals throughout the year.

Reports

Reports are issued in July and December, however parents are welcome to make an appointment at any time during the year for feedback and progress.

Regardless of the child’s learning and physical challenges we focus and work on all learning areas, with the aid of specialized equipment, learning tools, rooms and programmes.

Neurodevelopmental processing

Comprises of sensory integration to lay the foundation for academic learning. Sensory integration develops a child’s:

  • Vestibular system
  • Visual and auditory processing abilities
  • Fine motor skills
  • Gross motor skills
  • Oral motor skills
  • Tactile perception
  • Proprioceptive systems
